NOH
Went to watch NOH presented by Japan Creative Centre at Drama Centre. It was a traditional Japanese musical theatre. There were three programmes.
1) Noh: Kocho (Butterfly) , performed in a solemn and dignified manner, exuding an atmosphere of quiet elegance and is visually dramatized by the use of elaborate costumes and delicately-carved masks on an austere stage.
2) Kyogen: Obagasake (The aunt and her sake), a light hearted comedy
3) Noh: Shakkyo (The Stone Bridge)
The performance was something new and interesting for me! Everything was so disciplined, that slow and steady, no sign of panicking even when everything was to be done on stage, in front of the audience, such as changing of costumes, presenting music and changing of props.
Well, really glad that I did not flee after the first programme because I am unable to understand or appreciate what it was all about, it was so draggy!!! However, the second item was otherwise, a light hearted comedy which gave me a good laugh ^___^.
Hmmm.. luck, what kind of luck was that?
This is how all things worked...
